Holding the journal, you look upon a page with a very strange and alien markings on the corners. You hold a candle over the page to try and see the symbols better... Instead, you find that there are faintly glowing lines on the page, as if they are absorbing the light. Extinguishing the candle, you gaze upon it in the sudden and crepuscular darkness. Just as you expected, there are hidden words...A secret entry.

My projects are picking up speed once again. Since my last updates, I have begun to question other potential improvements. For example, during a recent expedition, my scouts ventured into the territories of the vicious Gruul. It was here that they found strange creatures called Baloths, monstrously massive and powerful predators. It took some work, but I managed to gather a specimen. Through genetic recombination, I have created a most lovely habitat of Rampaging Baloths. They're vicious, but invaluable. This has been a wondrous success. Furthermore, I located the lost Ohran Viper. There was just one problem... My labs needed more room for in order to properly contain it. To make room, I abandoned my research in the Acidic Slime, since I learned all that I needed from it. In speaking of which, I am reminded of the Elvish Piper that served as an assistant with my experiments. As it turns out, she was freeing some animals from my projects! Yes, it turns out she was more closely allied with Selesnya and their overly benevolent approach to nature. Do they not understand what the Simic Combine stands for? I was not to be made into a travesty, no, not like this. She was fed to a Voracious Wurm and quickly replaced by one of the very beasts she had tried to free. Ironically, this creature that she was replaced with would not have evolved if not for her disruption. I was attempting to craft a creature with a "bond" of sorts to the land around it. I fortunately succeeded, and the experiment resulted in the creation of a Lotus Cobra, whose mysticism cannot be abated. Due to all these successes, I am very excited to see what transpires in my future projects.
