If the Hellion Crucible is to ever leave this deck, it's for colored mana. This card is too amazing not to run in a deck with red sources, IMO. When the game gets to a grind, I have no creatures, they have no creatures, and I have a Gavony Township , that's not too helpful. The Crucible gives me one more option. That last ditch play. And the card has single-handedly given me games I would have lost otherwise. It honestly hasn't disappointed me yet.
The township is only more efficient if I have creatures, and they need to be creatures I want to swing with, and/or multiple creatures to get a similar benefit. Township isn't BAD, but to me, it's not as good.
Sorry, my counterpoints always come out "ranty".... But Hellion Crucible is a great, and underrated, card. You may want to toy around with it a little. It isn't a show-stopper like some cards, but it commands a little respect.

At first glance it looks good! One suggestion... I like Shock a lot! However Incinerate might be a better choice!

If youre having trouble with weenies...bonfire of the damned might help. Actually, if you are having trouble against weenies, I might put bonfire in my naya deck (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/standard-naya-blink/). Mine has a little bit more synergy, but unfortunately I had no room for wolfir silverheart.

Didn't forget Clifftop Retreat , just don't feel the need to go out of my way for them. If I find some I'll trade for them.
Honestly I'd love some Bonfire of the Damned , where should I sneak those in if/when I can find them?

4 Shock is not necessary here, and I think Pillar of Flame is better, despite instant speed. Maybe 3 pillar, 1 shock, and 2 bonfire.

Gavony Township Over Hellion Crucible, a much more efficient and powerful card. Check out my Naya Deck, http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/nayakite-please-comment/
