3-1 Modern Night —Feb. 14, 2018
I went 3-1 in yesterday's Modern event with 10 players. Beat Naya Zoo in a close 3 games in round 1, followed by a fairly easy win against RG Titanshift in round 2. I lost to esper thoper/sword combo in round 3, mostly due to Wrench Mind being bad in game 1 and not finding any racks, then losing game 2 to not finding Leyline of the Void in time, and possibly siding incorrectly. I think I should have left in the smallpoxes instead of siding in the creature package to cut him off of lands. I had plenty of racks, but he gained enough life to stabilize while I didn't see enough discard or Raven's Crime for the lands I drew. The last round I went up against the Hulk/Body Double combo, and won fairly easily. I even came back in game 2 after being hit by a Through the Breached Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and being at 1 life with no board! The deck was fun to play, and I'm not sure it really needs anything other than some card being printed that discards my opponent while I draw cards lol.
