Swapped Bonfire of the Damned for Mizzium Mortars.

For 2 mana i can deal 4 damage to a creature. In order to deal 4 damage to each creature bonfire needs 5 mana and mortars need 6, so its about even, except you can wait for the opportune moment to cast mortars.

hey i like this idea but as a friendly note are you aware that you have 62 cards in this deck?

Just a quick note: don't forget that Lightning Prowess gives haste, so you can, with five mana, surprise drop an assassin and a prowess to kill something immediately.

This deck has an interesting theme. Looks fun to play. +1 =)

Ambush Viper also fits that theme. But I would cut your card count down to 60, unless you're playing Battle of Wits .

just wondering why not do Fervor instead of Lightning Prowess

@pappasmurf91: Lightning Prowess lets his deathtouch creatures ping other creatures to death. The haste is just an added bonus, but not the main idea.

a i missed the fact that it made the creature deal damage 1 damage. my bad. sweet combo then. feel like there should be more DT or lifelink than? maybe Deadly Recluse ? help with flying and save a few cents on the switch. just tossing up an idea for ya.

Yeh i have thought of Deadly Recluse , but i dont want to overload on the combo, just have it in there to maybe go off as it is very fragile, but at the same time it creates a threat out of nothing that may soak a kill spell, and if it does then i get to keep my fatties most likely

Since Lightning Prowess does create such a good combo with Deathtouch creatures, I would recommend having it as a 4 of, along with at least 12(ish?) Deathtouch creatures.

@Jarrheadd0: he also has Ulvenwald Tracker s, which combos almost as well with deathtouch creatures as Lightning Prowess , but also combos well with the number of fatties he's running as his main offense.

I think he's going for a little more variety in how he removes stuff, making it much harder for his opponent to sideboard for game two.

Exactly what snotskie said, plus i dont like relying on a specific combo too much, it makes the deck extremely fragile, but just having that combo as a possibility might work out really well

Jarrheadd0 says... #14

Well, couldn't you just use 4 of both? The more possible pieces to a combo, the better.

Perhaps i can put a couple in the sideboard if the combo works too well, but i think if i focus too much on getting the combo to be reliable i will loose my other forms of control / survival, sort of like too much of a good thing
