Venser, Shaper Savant Amazing in this deck! —June 21, 2018
I was playing around with this card and am i impressed. His ability does NOT count as a counter thus it gets around Abrupt Decay and Supreme Verdict effects. But not only that he has the ability to bounce permanents either your opponents or yours! Want to return a Spell Queller and let that counterspell fall away great. Want to return Wall of Omens and get another card draw great.
But what really impressed me was that i got in a match up with an enchantment deck. Opponent was playing cards like Ixalan's Binding and Cast Out to capture my Eldrazi Displacer. i just kept bouncing my Venser, Shaper Savant to either counter the spell or bounce the permanent enchantment if he resolved it. Eventually i was getting to the point of bouncing 2-3 permanents per turn and opponent just gave up due to not being able to resolve a spell.
