Ramos, Dragon Engine and Fist of Suns Interaction

Asked by SirFowler 6 years ago

If I have Fist of Suns on the battlefield at the same time as Ramos, Dragon Engine and then cast something like Emrakul, the Promised End, will I be able to put 5 counters on Ramos? Or does it only count the card that's being cast itself equal to it's color/s?

The colors of a spell are determined by it's mana cost, color indicator, and/or characteristic defining abilities (devoid). Alternative costs (including it's own abilities) do not change it's colors. Emrakul, the Promised End is a colorless spell. Abilities of permanents can change the colors of spells, such as Celestial Dawn or Painter's Servant, but only if they explicitly do so.

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure. It seems like no matter how long I've been playing magic, I still get confused by the simplest things.
