Mikaeus and Angel of Glory's Rise
Asked by Kmbaker6109 13 years ago
Will Mikaeus, the Lunarch stay on the battlefield if i play Angel of Glory's Rise and then play travel preparations to get counters on him?
The only way around this is an anthem card like Honor of the Pure , or I suppose Collective Blessing .

There actually IS another way around this in the current standard and one that could run with R/W/X humans... (Most likely with R/B/W or R/W/G)
Dearly Departed can be in your graveyard when card:Angel of Glory's Rise enters the battlefield either by casting or reanimation of some sort and THEN Mikaeus, the Lunarch would stay on the battlefield due to the +1/+1 counter.
I have been working on a Seance build using Faithless Looting , Dearly Departed , and Kessig Malcontents to ditch to the graveyard but I'm thinking that running R/W Humans and splash black for Unburial Rites and other removal would work better.
After the card:Angel of Glory's Rise hits the battle field, my opponent would really only have 1 turn to stop me or else Riders of Gavony or some kind of Overrun effect would likely give me the game then

No. Creatures with toughness 0 or less are put into their owner's graveyards as a state-based action. This event occurs immediately after the resolution of card:Angel of Glory's Rise's ability, before any player receives priority. Therefore, Mikaeus, the Lunarch will be put into your graveyard before you can even cast Travel Preparations to put counters on it.
