Astral Cornucopia. why the 3 X. wouldnt 1 x be enouph? same goes for Bonfire of the Damned,Decree of Justice, and Empty the Pits. do these extra x's effect the cost other than the first x? im so confused.
the only one that does this and make sense to me is Gelatinous Genesis or spells like Fireball. can someone please explain this to me?
And just in case you or anyone else reading this misunderstood the way Gelatinous Genesis works - the two in the cost don't mean that you can pay to get one 3/3 creature - instead, you have to choose a value for X, for example 4. Now you have to pay (meaning ) to get four 4/4 creatures.

Each is the same value. you just have to pay it multiple times. In the case of Astral Cornucopia you can pay 3 mana for one counter and therefore one mana per tap, or 6 for 2 counters and 2 mana per tap, etc. Ditto for each of the others bonfire cost 7 mana to do 3 damage if cast for its regular cost.
