Geist of Saint Traft questions..

I have two questions
- If Geist of Saint Traft dies, does the Angel token stay? Because technically the sac ability written on the Geist cannot occur.
- Can a creature with hexproof be countered?

if you cloudshifted the token would it stay on the battlefield?

No, the token would die, it is the same concept as Vapor Snag ging or bouncing in general, once it leaves it is gone unless otherwise stated

Since a token is not a card, it ceases to exist as soon as it is removed from the field for any reason. As such, it has no way of returning.

Right. When a token leaves the battlefield, even if for just a moment (Cloudshift ), it's gone forever.

You're on to something with 2, though.
In this particular case, it doesn't work because tokens cease to exist if they are outside the battlefield when state-based-actions are performed, and can't return to the battlefield if they leave.
However, you can do other tricks like it by Flicker ing things.
Threaten a creature. Then Cloudshift it. You nowhave control of it indefinitely. Same for Gruesome Encore .

I believe if you use Sundial of the Infinite it will allow you too keep your token. Not sure though.
