can you have multiple enchantments on the field at once?

I can't find anybody who can tell me the answer.
Of course you can. What makes you think that you can't?

The only reason you couldn't would be if they were World enchantments (Nether Void , Concordant Crossroads ). There is nothing preventing you from having multiple global or Aura enchantments at the same time.

Ok thank you guys and do things like Harden Scales count as world enchantments?

Umm sorry I thought that would give the link to the card.

The card is called Hardened Scales . And no only cards that say "enchant world" in their typeline are world enchantments. Also world enchantments haven't been printed any more since Visions

Cards like Aura Gnarlid would be a great deal less potent if there could only be one Enchantment on the battlefield... and the recent Theros block would have been a real bust! It's possible to build decks constructed entirely from Enchantments in that block!

Reichhardt I only meant cards that are labelled Enchantment not anything like Enchantment Creature.

Understood MTGbrewer. An Enchantment Creature is still an Enchantment, as well as a Creature, of course - just as Dryad Arbor is a Creature as well as a Land, or Woodlurker Mimic is a black Creature as well as a green Creature.

Legendary enchantment. A rare combination but that could be the other reason, I suppose.

Yes. There is no stipulation that you can't have multiple enchantments on the battlefield. Those enchantments can be enchanting creatures, or be enchantments like Necropotence or Leyline of Sanctity that have a static effect or provide you with an additional ability or effect.
