I honestly didn't know where else to start this thread, this just seemed like the most reasonable, so I apologize in advance mods!

Jumping in.

SO who all has gotten it so far on the ipad?

What are your thoughts about it so far?

For those curious to what the game offers, here is my mini review, insight, opinion:

GET IT.

If you enjoy Magic, or just the fun of magic the gathering in Console/Tablet form, get it.

I finally feel like Wizards got it "right"

the "create your own deck" capability is worth it by itself.

You have a TON of starter decks to choose from (one for each guild/color combo) and that deck is the deck you use as you unlock cards and progress through the story.

The Card is pretty awesome in my opinion, very well balanced and fun. Lots of options and cards to create decks depending on what type of player you are.

Granted I wish there was a LITTLE more, but hey I am a greedy person, constantly hungry for more. I predict that future DLC will satisfy this for us players.

The campaign levels are pretty fun actually, and the computer decks are this year straight up competitive for the most part. (trying beat Ravnica Plane on PLANESWALKER mode & the EXPLORE Mode....if you're up to it.)

Speaking of Explore, one thing I enjoy about the game is that once you beat the campaign level, there is a mode called "Explore" where you pretty much face 5 other decks that cycle within whatever Plane you are in, and beating these decks allows you to unlocks "packs", other starter decks or AKA "archetypes" and whatever other unlocks the games allows over a period of time.

Its pretty fun and enjoyable and allows you to seek out cards you want bc each plane has a certain "card pool" for packs.

I havent beaten the game yet so I cant say much about Garruk, but I suspect it will be a fun battle.

The game is awesome and really fun, and one thing I like about the game is the way Wizards sort of limited rare cards.

Youre allowed up 4 commons, 3 uncommons, 2 rares, 1 mythic of each individual card, so a player cant have a playset of over powered rares, only OP commons.

This keeps people from breaking the game in a sense and building straight up tier 1 decks, which is pretty solid in my opinion for this type of game.

I think this year is probably my most favorite just due to the create your own deck mode, and I highly recommend it to players.

Thanks for reading!

For all those who have it, what decks you have? What did your creativity come up with?

Right now my bread and butter is my Grixis Midrange/Control.

Im more curious how the game plays with other players. Is it the same powerful decks that consist of cards that you have to purchase through microtransactions? and I agree with Chubub. Which version did you get and if you got the complete bundle do you get 1 of each card or do you get playsets in the limited 4 commons, 3 uncommons, ect...

Now I have a JB iPad, and when I used that to unlock everything I was able to get all the cards. It did have the limit of 4 commons, 3 uncommons, etc. for when you bought the whole shebang. Does that help with your question?

I just bought the 9.99 deal for the campaign, no bundles or anything included. i did buy a couple of packs just to see what i would get.

Granted with enough time put in you will eventually unlock all the cards, but if you want them right away you can go ahead and buy the bundle package or a certain pool of cards.

Also I just want to add, that it seems if you buy premium you do indeed get access to certain few cards, the normal version doesnt.

Talrand, Sky Summoner

Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

Darksteel Ingot

Hall of Triumph

I played this game recently. I had trouble getting through the first campaign at the highest difficulty setting (it seemed the closest to playing a relatively skilled opponent). The game does not offer you much opportunity to tune or customize your deck until you complete the first campaign, then you can grind in Innistrad or Theros. As my deck choice was suboptimal and I wasn't great at playing it I was struggling.

I had picked the Izzet starter deck. I kept losing to the first computer player in Innistrad against basically Scathe Zombies The Deck. Gaaah! I finally beat it and then blew through the rest of the opponents after some light trouble but was really reliant on getting lucky (particularly against Avacyn; I only beat her finally because she didn't actually play any angels).

Note that the computer is not restricted to your card pool and can include more rares than you can have, as well as start matches with permanents already in play.

I much preferred the old Duels games with the premade deck options, they felt less "grindy".
