@10vernothin: This was posted in the Modern forum. Neither Academy Rector nor Show and Tell is legal in Modern.

Omniscience doesn't see play in Modern precisely because all the decent means of cheating it out aren't legal in Modern.

I saw a deck once that had a way to get it into the graveyard right away (perhaps with a Faithless Looting -type effect), then used Obzedat's Aid to put it into play.

I would like to share this in effort of full disclosure omniscience in modern winning major tournament. It is last standards Omnidoor shell in a scapeshift shell. Is this a good deck? I dont know but it works I guess.

@gufymike: I saw that, actually. I did a quick search on MTGTop8 to make sure Omniscience hadn't become some upstart thing.

I suppose with the right rogue build, you can do something with Omniscience . I don't know about it being a strong deck overall, though.

Last standard, I had an esper control deck that slowly built up to Omniscience , then cast Enter the Infinite , Laboratory Maniac , and two draw spells to win on the spot.

Epochalyptik a few people are enamored with it right now. It is certainly different from the norm and exciting, so I expect it to see some play. But it does need a pilot who's experienced with it to be good. I think that's true of any deck. I agree about being good, it doesn't appear consistent. But I did play a lot against omnidoor (friend built and played it for awhile) and it won. I just don't think it could hold up in a gp or pro tour with stronger competition and better decks.

I've been testing a rogue Modern deck that runs Omniscience recently. It's surprisingly good. I think someone recently won a Modern tournament in Berlin with a similar deck.
