Angling for first with Gurmag Angler?

Hey I just wanted to mention this because I thought it was hilarious.
Noah Walker got 1st place in the SCG Legacy Open today running two Gurmag Anglers.
I understand that it's a lot easier to load up the graveyard in legacy with more efficient filtering but..just wow.

I'm seriously considering going legacy Esper after seeing deck after deck load up on Gitaxian Probe, Brainstorm and Ponder. Not only that but having only 6 original duals? That's just gravy.

Picked up on my foils a while back, traded all but one out already.
Lol jk, got a foil in my FRF box though and looked it up and was like "wtf?"

Yep, $7 foil common. When it hits the Delver of Secrets Flip and Spell Pierce range, then we'll talk about dumb.

to build on what other said.. he's a 5/5 for 1 black... avoids karakas. And as a 5/5 he stops tasigir and goyf (99percent of the time) which most removal in the format can't

i highly doubt it will reach that point. those see wide play and often times as 4 ofs... angler sees fringe inclusion as 1-2 of

Well, Angler is solid in Modern aswell, so odds are it will climb as high.

I mean, it's a 5/5 for 1 black mana and it can't get bounced by Karakas, I don't understand the hilariousness. Also, most delver decks in Legacy run only 6 or 7 ABUR duals....
