Why is WotC Unlikely to Make Ten Verges with the Colors Switched?

In this post, Mark Rosewater said that it is not likely that WotC shall print ten new verges, with the primary and secondary colors switched, so I wondering why that is; why is it that the existing verges favor one color over another, and what good reason is there to not make ten new verges?

What does everyone else say, about this? Why is WotC unlikely to print ten new verges, with the primary and secondary colors switched?

You are inferring a lot from an If.

Ask him. He is a lot smarter at MTG design than any of us are.

If I had to make a guess, a double cycle of Verge lands wouldn't actually add that much value to the game. It might be slightly easier to splash into a deck than the other way around thanks to Blazemire Verge, but there are plenty of options to make up the difference in every format, and a deck that uses more than a light splash of a second (or maybe third) color would probably just use the best available dual lands. I don't think adding a reverse cycle would really let anything new develop or adapt.

I personally would have them finish the Nimbus Maze cycle over a flipped verges cycle.

Bookrook, yes, I agree that this was an opportunity to give Nimbus Maze a complete cycle, so I am still hoping for that, at some point, especially considering that the allied-colored verges have names that refer to specific locations on Duskmourn (while the enemy-colored verges do not, which is very interesting).
