What is your favorite color/color set and why?

I like just talking to members of the T/O community. I want to know what color/colors do you like the most. I personally am a blue mage, with izzet being my favorite guild and grixis is my favorite shard. I am relatively new to magic (compared to most players out there. I have only been playing for a year or so). I got started with an izzet deck. I remember just being a casual player with my friends, and all of our decks looked like draft decks more than constructed decks. What did you start with? which colors, and which set? What is your favorite format and why?
I'm kind of hazy on when I first started borrowing friends decks and playing and then got a couple boosters for Christmas, I remember getting a Bellowing Tanglewurm and thinking it was the absolute best card ever, but I also seem to remember getting a Coldsnap pack. My first real deck was an altered version of a R/W New Phyrexia intro deck around Moltensteel Dragon and Phyrexian mana. So I started with Boros and now my favorite color combo is Selesnya because they just seem to fit together and they are the ones that do the least dumb/mean shit on Ravnica.

Blue and black. They're the ultimate control colours in my opinion. Counter spells, discard, bounce, removal... It's just a great time. If I had a favourite 3 colour combo it would be Grixis (blue, black, red) because they're colours that easily control the board.

My favorite colors are Blue and Red, probably. I like Dimir much more than I like Izzet, but I will gladly play any blue-based control deck. And most combo decks. As well as practically any red aggro deck. (DRAGON STOMPY!)
The first deck I played was a friend's UB Dralnu/Teachings deck in standard. Won a lot of FNMs with that deck.

Mine would have to be the boros legion, as they play exactly how i like to when i take a game seriously. I like to take them down before they have a chance to respond, and few decks do that with the flair that red/white does.

Green is the dearest to my heart. I've had a love affair with green since I started playing the game. My favorite guild is Gruul, followed by simic and Izzet, and my favorite shard is either Naya or Jund

On and I love green bc it's just so over the top and the ability for board chaos is so fun, which is also why I love Gruul, simic, Jund, and naya

Only been playing for a month but I love the boros guild I feel like I can identify with it a little, trying to get a good boros deck I can play in standard if anyone has any suggestions!

I love green. We both share a hatred of blue, so I'll probably run green decks till forever, but I've also become really smitten with Selesnya as well (even though the g/w god is almost garbage. Such a let down).

My favourite colour now is green. I Have a wide variety of Two-coloured decks, but i think i favour U/G and R/G above the rest. I like R/U control too, but not as much as the green decks i have.
In Commander, i tend to go Esper, although I have Naya and Gruul too.
My least favourite colour, as per now, i think is white. Don't know why.

My timmy side loves green and my johnny side loves blue. Simic is the way to go- sentimental value is also a factor since simic evolve was my first deck I took to an FNM. My favorite wedge is RUG, because I love how all the colors interact to form a giant superpower.

Black is my favourite colour because it has the best mix of big creatures and control elements (discard and killspells). Green comes second due to having ramp and even bigger creatures. I'm a sucker for golgari because I think that any deck that can both control the board and play massive creatures is pretty neat.

There's no problem you can't answer with Orzhov. Utility, badass creatures, best tribes, and some of the most powerful cards ever created. Especially in EDH, the Orzhov Syndicate are not to be fucks wit.

Green is my favorite color because I find the art to be peaceful and generally better than the other colors and I played through 7th edition before taking a break until RTR and i LOVED tribal elves.
My favorite guild is Azorius and my favorite shard is Junk (BGW)

My favorite color is black. I started out with a mono black deck around the time of Innistrad. I love playing it because it screws over lots of decks and makes them want to flip the table. :)
My favorite guild is Dimir. I didn't think it was very great until it was my guild on Planeswalker points and I picked it for Gatecrash prerelease. It was so much fun!
My favorite shard is a tie between Bant and Jund (crazy, I know). I love Bant because it was my first deck that regularly got top 8 at my lgs and that I liked playing. I also love Jund because my EDH deck is Shattergang Brothers and it is one heck of a fun time playing him.

I'm definitely with Jp3ngu1nb0y here. Orzhov has so much utility and has everything i like to do. I can spit out tokens, gain some life (and sometimes drain yours) and i've got removal for days. Plus angels. Hell yeah.

Orzhov because I have an unhealthy obsession with the color combination of Black and White. I love bing able to gain life while simultaneously sapping it from my opponants, plus in EDH you can actually back up the Extort mechanic (Which is just stupid) with graveyard recursion, token generation and creature control.

my favorite color in magic is black, favorite guild is probably golgari (maybe rakdos?), and my favorite shard is Jund. My first deck was a blue/black mill deck that was for casual play. Now I play modern format more than anything else. I like modern because ya, its kinda expensive, but not as much as legacy, and nothing spikes in price then drops then rotates out forever like standard. theres a wide variety of decks and a huge card base to work with

I love mono-blue in most formats. I mainly like blue-tempo decks, like Fish in Modern.
The exception is in Standard where I prefer to play Selesnya decks. I got excited for mono-blue devotion after the pro tour, but found it was a really boring deck to play! I typically try to stay away from the main deck archetypes and build something on the fringe.

I hope Sunpetal Grove is reprinted in M15. As a Selesnya aggro player, I play 4 shocks, 2 temples and the rest basics. So, if I keep a hand, 90% of the time I'll have a turn 1 basic into t2 check. Plus, they are so much cheaper than fetches.

I can get behind pretty much every two-color combination, but Gruul, Rakdos, and Selesnya are undoubtedly my least favorite on flavor terms.
I also really love the "America" color wedge, I feel that flavorfully it's well-balanced; white ethics to keep Izzet from going over the edge, Blue's Foresight prevent the myopia and impulsiveness of Boros, and Red's emotional context and drive to kick Azorius into actual action.
My first deck was a UW ghost deck with a Geist of Saint Traft , back when m13 came in. My best current deck is a standard-legal Boros Aggro deck, though I'm starting to get a bit bored with it and I'm hoping to do well with either the Golgari or Orzhov decks I've been constructing.
My favorite format is sealed, and I primarily play Limited, Standard, and EDH. I'm still too new to this game to start throwing together modern decks.

Green or any color combo with green. I like Golgari, but mono-green is awesome. I won my first few FNMs with a mono-green deck in Innistrad. My foil Wolfir Silverheart s are some of my prized possession cards.

Back when I started playing MTG it was during the conclusion of Betrayers of Kamigawa. Me and my friends were picking among the five colors of mana, based on our personalities/preferences/favorite color. At that time, the very colors that totally caught my attention was Black and Red (since they're my personal colors hehe), and my very first card deck was the Black/Red Dark Devotion deck from Betrayers (the one with Hidetsugu). From that day onward, I'd go Black/Red all the way, and I love it when winning at the cost of my life points, hence the famous quote "Greatness, at any cost".
Then came Ravnica: City of Guilds, my most favorite set in the entire MTG multiverse/playsets. With the introduction of the Cult of Rakdos, my colors were given a whole new wonderful meaning and purpose. Overall, I'm a Red Mage with Black Mana flowing through my veins >;D
I used to play Standard back when it was affordable. Then came the Planeswalker cards and the princings went BOOM! So now, I settled down in staying in the Modern format where I can use all of the cards I have left, making it a lot less expensive for me when it comes to buying other cards that I may need :)

Red, love it. Burn, dragons, aggression, speed, minotaurs, goblins, land destruction, and my old favorite tribe barbarians. Opened a lot of red rares and legends as a kid too. Love at first sight.
Red/Black is my favorite color combo. Red/Green is really equal but I prefer mono-black to mono-green. Blightning

, and Terminate
get me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Jund seems cool but I've never really played it. Grixis and Naya also apealing.

Green is definitely my favorite color in Magic. I like to do crazy things, and ramping is the best way to make that happen. Even tho Timmy is the least prevalent of my persona, a part of me loves big creatures.
Simic is my favorite guild. Combine the ramping power and big creatures of Green with the draw power of Blue, and you have my ideal deck.
For my favorite wedge, I'll have to go with Bant. Take all the goodies that Simic brings, and add in creature tokens and a little removal.

Favorite color is red. Started playing around November with some friends and instantly fell in love with red. I've only been playing in standard so I can only speak for the RTR and Theros blocks. Favorite guild is Izzet, so much randomness and fun ways to turn around the game. In theros I really like the akroans. Always did like antiquity, so I'm a big fan of theros. My 2 main decks are, as you can guess, a R/U burn deck mostly focused on red spells with a bit of control, and a R/W aggro with heroic triggers and plenty of cheap enablers.

B/U/G for 3 color, golgari for a guild, and mono black for mono color, with those i get self-mill, control, targeted removal, and snakes, lots and lots of snakes.

I started out my MTG career as a mono Red player. Quicly I found that green and black are my favorites, with green being my base.
Soooo, green is my favorite color, guild is either Rakdos/Golgari/Gruul, and Jund my shard. I do like all 5colors, but favor these 3.

I started out with Shards, and after playing with a friends cards I totally wanted Elspeth. In my first booster - Elspeth. I was kind of into white at that point one could say.
Times change though, and after living with two national champions and partaking in nationals myself blue naturally became the color of choice, not only because it's responsive, but because it has some of the most bogus cards for my favorite format Commander.
So now my favorite color is blue, and my favorite shard is by far and wide Bant for its ramp/blue/removal capabilities.

There are four different colours/colour combinations I love: Mono-Black, Mono-Red, Golgari and Dega, Mono-Black being my fav. I love Mono-Black because i love the idea of SuiBlack. Mono-Red because goblins, Golgari because it was my first deck and Dega because of my Oros EDH deck.

I've always been a fan of black and red. They are the colors I played in revised and 4th edition and am starting to play again. The only format I play is standard, don't have the money to play anything else since I just got back into playing a month before theros was released and quit back in 97.
