Green C14, White C14 for these cards?

So, a trader wanted my Green and White C14 Complete Decks for His:

Breeding Pool $10, Steam Vents $12, Overgrown Tomb $7.50, Temple Garden $10, Helm of Obedience $10, and Arcbound Ravager $17.50

I immediately accepted it, without thinking. But was this an even trade? Because...

If you add all the card values of Green and White C14 Decks it will come up to $105. White Deck cost about $60 and Green Deck cost about $45.

If you add what I got, it comes out to be $67

That's a $38 difference...

Should I have taken the singles out of the White and Green C14 individually and traded them out, or was it a good move to just accepted the trade?

You have to remember that the majority of the C14 decks are fifty cent cards that are hard to trade. White has Containment Priest and the legends/planeswalkers are worth a little bit, but I'd say its a reasonable deal. Total up the cards over $3-5 in those decks and see what you get, that's how much I would've traded for them.

Its also not like you got bulk- you got sought after lands and modern staples that will either stay stable or rise in price (not talking about the Helm).

If you opened the product and were not planning on using it, this was a good trade for you. At a certain point, it's worth trading a little 'theroretically' low, to get solid value out of it.

Well, the White deck is easy to find at $50 and the Green at $35. So the difference is less than you think.

If you intend to use the cards you received, or you are planning on trying to trade for other staples, then it was probably a good trade. Most of the C14 cards aren't highly wanted, and so you can look at it as trading bulk for eternal value.

Considering the total value of the cards in each deck equal $105, and the MSRP of both decks put together is $70, it seems like you got the short end of the deal either way.
