Ugin - Is he that good?

Do you just always find a place for Ugin or is self-control needed when looking at him sitting next to a uncompleted deck? Example: Is he worth playing here -> Xenagos' Last Revel
it doesn't matter if your running tokens or your running Siege Rhino... Ugin's -X can wipe your board regardless

Depending on how you use it anyway, you can use -X as 0 and then wipe out tokens. But either way Ugin can go in any deck but should only be used it ones where it's most advantageous.

Not exactly true that he wipes your board regardless of what you have. He doesn't deal with manifest tokens which is very relevant out of a number of decks.

Ideally, you would put Ugin, the Spirit Dragon in more of a control/midrange list so you don't end up loosing value by killing a bunch of your own threats. Your deck seems more aggressive with things like Monastery Swiftspear and Heir of the Wilds, so I think you should probably stick to your top-end of Dragonlord Atarka.

I think that as long as you pronounce 'Ugin' as 'Eugene', then he's good in any deck.

While Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is a great planeswalker because of his -X ,you need to be mindful of how he can't fit in every deck. As an example if you use tokens to fight using his -X will wipe your board. On the other hand a free Lightning Strike each turn is nice and using his ultimate is good for card draw. In the right decks he's your worst nightmare but in others he can just be a good card that really doesn't belong. Hope that helped!
