So few opponents are prepared to play around a single blue mana or untapped Sylvan Caryatid and you can just as often mana sink a Sarkhon, the Dragonspeaker for 1 as you can hard counter once you have ferocious.
As if the Green devotion lists didn't already have a great matchup against Abzan, Stubborn Denial really seals the deal. It will almost always be a hard counter for their plainswalkers and removal because they are waiting to downfall your big dudes after they resolve.
If you've been running Green devotion and haven't considered splashing blue, give it a try. Sagu Mauler , Stubborn Denial , Kiora's Follower , and Prophet of Kruphix are worth the splash.

only if you have ferocious quickly and need to ward off exile removal or something trying to protect your Ensoul Artifact Darksteel Citadel while still being able to cast more threats. If your big threats dont come out early, there are probably better cards to play. its a negate that fits this nitch I described.

Souljacker Not looking for help, just trying to create some discussion around one of the less popular splashes for the green devotion shell and the main card that won me over. Stubborn Denial

ColdHeartedSith Why are you talking about ensoul artifact? I'm advocating the strength of running Stubborn Denial in a deck that has 10-14 4+ Power creatures starting at 4 mana.

You didnt understand, I was giving you an example of a deck it would be great in because of early turn 2 ferocius where you just wanna protect your early threat but still be able to cast other spell turn 3 and 4 while protecting the 5/5 with 1 open mana. In other decks this card loses its big advantage because distainful stroke becomes alot better in the mid range. So if you don't need Stubborn Denial for reasons like I described in that its a counter that dosn't slow your early tempo, then you probably want stroke instead as it hits anything at 4 and up cmc. Stubborn is great for early threat decks like ensoul that I mentioned because its a relevant deck, but others may arise with new sets. You have to decide if stubborn denial helps you when you really need it and is better than any other choice and I say no in your decks case.
