Modern Black & Blue Deck Ideas

Deck Help forum

What are some black and blue decks/archetypes that can be made in modern? Or what are some cards in black and blue that are good to build around? All suggestions are greatly accepted, and encouraged. Thank you!

Faeries is the first thing that comes to mind. There are also esper and grixis control decks, but i believe those aren't as good as the america version. I believe a few mill decks do have black splash, but mill is a fringe deck itself and doesn't win events.

U/B Faeries has had some decent performances including a few PTQ top 8s that I have seen.

You're looking at Bitterblossom , Spellstutter Sprite and targeted discard.

thanks derKochXXL and fluffybunnypants.

I really want to play faeries for two reasons. One I quickly took a look at a few and on average there about $1000, that may not be a lot for you two but thats too expensive for me. Also i already play a zombie tribal deck and i don't really want another tribal deck.

derKochXXL i have been working on a grixis control deck if you don't mind taking a look at it Grixis (Cruel) Control .

I was thinking more of a "good stuff" type deck, what do you think about that?

U/B "good stuff" would be cards like Liliana of the Veil , Bob (Dark Confidant ), Creeping Tar Pit , Remand , Cryptic Command , etc. If you thought Faeries was on the expensive side to build....

I know that can't be the only way to do a "good stuff" deck, fluffybunnypants

Nope. Any time you mention "good stuff" with black or blue, those are the cards you're looking at.

You could try U/B Fish, but that's not a "good stuff" deck.

I suppose one could try to splash black in mono u tron for a little bit of hand disruption. But it doesn't seem like the best idea.
