Other Epiphanies

Sublime Epiphany is a great card, but the fact that blue is currently the only color to have such a card will only add credibility to the belief among long-time players of this game that blue is overpowered compared to the other colors in this game.

Therefore, I have decided to create an epiphany for each color, each of which is an instant, as is SE, has the same converted mana cost and color weight, and has five options. I shall provide further details in the individual description of each card.

Fervent Epiphany Show

In this card, the final mode cannot copy another fervent epiphany to prevent a player from creating a loop that allows them to deal great amounts of damage with the first mode.

Illuminated Epiphany Show

I originally had planned to have the first ability of this card double a player’s life total, but I then decided that that would be too powerful. Since the card costs six mana, I felt that it would be acceptable to have the second mode put the permanent directly onto the battlefield, rather than into the player’s hand.

Nocturnal Epiphany Show

I had originally planned for the first mode to drain life from all opponents, but the majority of the other modes specified single targets, so I felt that that one should, as well.

Primordial Epiphany Show

In this card, all but one of its modes are related to creatures, since green has the greatest emphasis on creatures of all the colors in this game. Since the spell costs six mana, I felt that the land from the first ability could enter the battlefield untapped, and I deliberately had the modes in that order, to allow them to escalate, since the modes occur in the order in which they are printed on the card. I was contemplating naming this card ancient epiphany, but I decided that primordial epiphany sounded better.

What does everyone else think of these cards? Do you like them?

The white one might be too powerful in a deck with Omniscience?

smackjack, in that case, what do you recommend that I do to improve it?

Funkydiscogod, I could add such a clause, but what if I instead had a limit on the converted mana cost of the card being returned?

Also, I deliberately worded the green epiphany so that the saproling could benefit from the other modes, or did I make a mistake in how I phrased the card?

DemonDragonJ bringing the enchantment to hand seems good enough :). If that is good for 3 , then you are paying another 3 to gain 10 life, destroy an enchantment, destroy an artifact and tapping all creatures.

smackjack, I need time to think about how I can improve illuminated epiphany.

Funkydiscogod, here is my new version of fervent epiphany:

Fervent Epiphany Show

Now, it cannot copy or return itself; what do you think of that?

Illuminated Epiphany is a bit op. I think going to the hand is better and fits the rarity better. It'd probably be banned for tutoring Blightsteel Colossus or Mycosynth Golem, or literally anything with Mycosynth Lattice. They look good though! Good job!

Chromium_Overseer, that is a very good point, so here is my revised version of that card:

Illuminated Epiphany Show

Now, what do you think of it?

I like it! It definitely looks balanced now, and fits well in the Epiphany cycle.
