Keeping Narset Around

I'm not sure how many of you follow Star City Games, but a while back an article mentioned possible banning of certain cards. The most concerning to me was Narset, Enlightened Master. Their reasoning for banning was due to the consistency and uninterractive combo she combo can create. This usually consists of attacking with Narset, and proceeding to take extra combat steps and turns to kill everyone at the table. I love winning the game, but I also like to be able to play with my new favorite Lady. I hope this thread can help start a trend to keep her off the banning radar so we can cast spells for free for a long time.

I'll need to do some digging, but give me a little bit. Kozelek I agree that she isn't broken, but the games she creates in that style she'll is not what the Rules Committee wanted, according to the article.

She has a cmc of 6 in colors that have little to no ramp. If you can't compete with that than build another deck haha

I love my Narset, Enlightened Master EDH deck, but I can see the "uninteractive" part. Once I have a few extra turns or drop a ton of huge permanents for free, people tend to lose interest

The reason that she might be "too good" is because people don't just use her to abuse 6-12 cmc non creature spells. It's the fact that she's so easily turned into a Voltron commander. So essentially, you get a creature that you cannot interact with at all, that's cheating in game breaking spells. It's fun yes, but only for one person.

Those are the reasons why I built my Narset edh deck into a Superfriends deck. I use crazy spells and planeswalkers like Cyclonic Rift and Elspeth, Sun's Champion, and only a single voltron cards: Eldrazi Conscription. She can just go crazy, but it isn't unbeatable. I think that's the best way to keep her around. Build good, but not "too good"

Here's a list of my Narset, Enlightened Master i think it's pretty fun to play and not to sad to play against. I don't like the Narset decks that use the destroy or the Omniscience way. I prefer keep it fun for me and my group of friend who i play with.

I don't know about banning her, most people with Narset, Enlightened Master decks already govern themselves. Most players will only play her until she "goes off" and then switch to something else. I don't see how her lack of interaction is any different than the other top tier decks people run.

It's similar to why Second Sunrise was banned in modern. Other combo decks may be as uninterractive, but a Narset combo takes up to 30+ minutes to kill the table.
