Kaho Minamo Combos

Hello again,I've stumbled upon my next Commander, Kaho, Minamo Historian After looking around I pretty much have a decklist down, but I have two big questions.

  1. How exactly, using proper magic rules and such, does the infinite mana combo using High Tide Turnabout and Minamo, School at Water's Edge work? Can you cast the spells in Kaho's tool box in response to them being cast before they resolve and go to the graveyard or what? It's a tad confusing.

  2. I need some recommendations for some game winning cards to cast with infinite mana / Omniscience . In my mind I have cards like Blue Sun's Zenith to mill a player, or for me to draw and play my entire deck - but that just doesnt seem cool enough without something a little different, or flashy, or at least not done in every other deck.

Thank you , community!S.T.R

You're going to need to elaborate more. I don't see a combo. Once you cast a card with Kaho, Minamo Historian , that card goes onto the stack. When it resolves, it will be put into its owner's graveyard like normal.

Yeah, Kaho doesn't cast copies, she casts the actual spells themselves. Once cast, they go to the graveyard.

That said, it's possible to get more mana out of your lands with the combo you mention: Cast High Tide for 1, tap all your remaining Islands, then use Minamo, School at Water's Edge to untap Minamo and cast your bigger spell earlier than you otherwise could. Or go High Tide>untap Kaho>Turnabout on lands>tap all your lands again. This way, you get slightly less than three or four times the amount of mana you otherwise might be able to get, which will help you with big spells (Decree of Savagery is fun, but doesn't work if you're playing EDH with Kaho as your general due to colour identity).

See I thought it didn't work....and now that I look back at that deck someone just left a comment claiming that it doesn't work. Well, hell.

I'm not sure how to break this deck anymore. Any ideas? Other than just adding all the answers in the tool box.

You can only have three cards under Kaho at any time, so there's no real way to get everything in the toolbox at once.

I personally don't like Kaho, but I play at a very high level of competition and she's just too clunky for those environments. She'd be reasonably effective in more lenient groups, though.

Yeah that's what it seems like now. The promise of infinite mana consistently looked promising, but not so much now.
