Kaalia of the Vast Question

Hello all!
I'm trying to make a Kaalia of the Vast EDH deck and when doing research, I found that some cards she puts into play don't get their effect right away. For example, if you attack with Kaalia and put Aurelia, the Warleader into play tapped and attacking, you don't get Aurelia's second attack phase ability.
I was wondering if abilities like Balefire Dragon 's and Angel of Despair 's work, as well.
Is there a certain way abilities need to be worded for them to activate when played by Kaalia?
One epic interaction with Kaalia is Rakdos the Defiler , since he comes in tapped and attacking you don't have to sac half your non demon permanents, but his dealing combat damage to a player ability still goes off.
And to mindlessly blurt out my Kaalia deck Heavenly Rakdos

@Heartpiercer: Alright, so mostly it's just the ability doesn't work whenever it says "when this creature attacks?" If I'm understanding you correctly then I think I chose a lot of good things for Kaalia's effect.
@Demarge: That is a really good combo! I hadn't thought of that! Do you use anything to bounce Rakdos the Defiler to your hand to use again, let him sit there, or attack and not care about your non-Demons? Your deck looks amazing! Too expensive for me, but awesome nonetheless! Here's mine if you wanted to see it: A Woman Scorned. The lands need work, but otherwise, I think it will work pretty well. This is my first venture into EDH, so, I'm getting used to the whole "no using multiple copies" thing haha

yeah my deck's been built up from the precon Kaalia came in to what it is now, as for bouncing rakdos, I could Orzhov Charm him, but the damage he does the first hit usually knocks that player out of the game (and sometimes I do stop caring about my non demon permanents, but only when I can give rakdos hexproof).

you could use Erratic Portal to return creatures to your hand if you wanted to.

also remember that creatures with vigilance also come in 'tapped and attacking' so their vigilance is negated if put into play with kaalia. A way around this however is to use Amulet of Vigor :-)

If Kaalia and Victory's Herald attack, and Kaalia puts into play Master of Cruelties, does Master gain flying from the Herald?

Yes because it's put into play attacking and Victory's Herald gives the benefit to all attacking creatures, not just the creatures that were declared as attackers.

When you put a creature into play tapped and attacking, it is never declared as an attacker. Therefore, it doesn't trigger the "when this creature attacks..." clause. In the other two cases, Balefire Dragon 's ability triggers when it deals damage and Angel of Despair 's ability goes on the stack when she enters the battlefield.
