General Ovehaul of the Deck —July 21, 2017

There was too many changes for me to include one by one, and thank you to the people who suggested all those cards, it helped out a lot.

So its a general lowering of the mana curve, removed hex-proof cards and switched into a more card draw related strategy.

Updated the description as well.

Lastly I swallowed my pride and included some cards that I didn't like. Because being kicked around tends to change your perspective.

Hope you liked my new approach,.

benelas16: Well technically those cards would hose my deck, the title's kinda sarcastic, because I'm playing a selesnya lifegain deck. Also, most of the cards you recommended are outside my commander's colors.

But I appreciate the comment =)

Anointed Procession is a nice new card to consider. A white Parallel Lives is an excellent inclusion for redundancy.

From your description, I understand you're not a fan of spot removal, but I still think Sundering Growth carries too much value not to run it. It populates a token for lifegain while ALSO dismantling an often relevant permanent.

Austin_Smith_of_Cards: Firstly, when I first made this deck, single use populate cards were included. I somehow end up getting rid of them because they only work when I've got my tokens out and ended up being mostly dead draws when I don't have a token yet.

Meaning I have too much cards that help me when I'm winning but don't help me when I'm behind that's why the single use populate cards got axed.

But I'm seriously considering Anointed Procession since Amonkhet first came out, but I still don't have any idea on what to remove in favor of it.

Hi erevain,

I think it could be nice to replace Mimic Vat with Conjurer's Closet. Closet is free to use once it's on the field. The only downsides when compared to Vat that I see, are its CMC and the fact that Vat can target creatures that are not your own.

NV_1980: Yeah I'm aware of Conjurer's Closet, but the reason I added Mimic Vat was because I needed a token generator.

I love how Conjurer's Closet triggers another ETB effect but that's not what I was looking for.
