will bob be more playable as a result of these bannings or less playable?

More. Most likely.

@klone13

Very likely more. You'll need to adjust your sideboard to account for Affinity, Zoo and blue decks, but Bob should be completely fine.

I doubt it, Lightning Bolt and its various equivalents will still play a large role in the format moving forward.

That being said, It existed prior to cruise so we could see it quite easily.

Lightning Bolt was, is and always will be relevant, but that didn't stop Bob from being playable before. The real reason to play him/not play him is what can happen when you untap with him in play. Before, the damage from your extra cards was a liability, where as now you want as much as you can get.

Yep, but GB/x is no longer racing against aggro that can refill its hand. Lightning isn't a problem on its own. What IS a problem is a deck that can reliably draw more lightning bolts.

I think there's little more that can be done just the now. Aside from the fair certainty that Delver will drop to Tier 2, it's pretty tough to predict exactly how things are going to play out. For that reason, I don't think you've missed anything; there's little more to say until the format restabilises in a couple months.

If you'd like, feel free to post my decklist for Scapeshift and Infect under their respective categories like you did for Gifts.

If you need a example burn deck, you can feel free to use mine, as I believe it is the highest rated burn deck on the site.

I just wanted to point out some awkward wording on the Bloom Titan Primer you paraphrased.

"Chalice of the Void and Engineered Explosives are devastating against almost every other modern deck, and they barely affect Bloom Titan given that it plays virtually no permanents besides lands, Amulet of Vigor and the titan."

I'd rephrase it as:

Chalice of the Void and Engineered Explosives are devastating against almost every other modern deck, due to the more linear curve of most other decks. Most modern decks play lots of cheap, efficient spells to win games, while Bloom Titan only cares about Amulet of Vigor and Summoner's Pact in it's lower CMC slots.

Chalice of the Void doesn't care about permanents, so the way you phrased it is a little confusing. Thanks in advance.

I have a question though, how do you do the decklist in the description, like was done with the Gifts Ungiven section?

I can see that being very useful when I finally get around to making my extended primer, as there's quite a few variants of the deck.

I honestly don't know, I think it is like printing screen then inserting picture...

nbarry223 says... #17

No, because it brings up the thumbnails of each card like if you were viewing the deck on it's decklist page.

Just a question, there isn't anything like this for Standard?

Would a major pain to set up, The archetypes are a lot more reactive and sensitive and the cards are constantly being updated.

Making a primer on here would require a great deal of work to maintain.

ChiefBell should there be more emphasis on man-lands? With the exception of burn/RDW a good amount of decks run them I thinks:p but hey I love the article

February 3, 2015 4:26 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #22

Yeh there probably should. I'm ill so I haven't updated in a while.

February 3, 2015 4:45 p.m.

SpartanCEL says... #23

I could write up a little thing if you wanted, but I think a paragraph or 2 would suffice so whatever works. Listing all the manlands wouldn't be too hard from gatherer. Being sick sucks, the doctors think I was recovering from mono (tested positive) while I was also told I have pneumonia(lower right lung I forget), that was in December lol. Hope you get better sleep is nice

Potentially a breakdown on metagaming cpuld be useful, Not what decks are popular but how to improve your maindeck and sideboard to combat it.

I think the Bloom Titan combo is now officially Tier 1.
