From the Depths of Winter Emerges... Some Changes! —Jan. 22, 2025
So, Secret Rendezvous goes in for Cartographer's Hawk, and Ghostly Prison goes in for The Restoration of Eiganjo? Both are technially ramp, but aren't efficient or consistent about what they're doing, and getting more Plains can be annoying when I sometimes want a Mountain. Blind Obedience is a very strong synergy piece (but I don't know if I have one yet, if I find one I'll add one lol, until then in goes Secret Rendezvous lol), as is Ghostly Prison (it's bonkers with Static Orb), and both are huge flavor wins, and neither of the removed cards had any Vorthos whatsoever (they were just glue, but I feel like there was too much really bad glue that was glopped all over, this might clean things up a bit!). For now Secret Rendezvous will give me some badly needed cards, we'll see how long it takes to get a Blind Obedience instead!
Edit: Huh, so, just looking at this, should I switch Reconnaissance out for Cartographer's Hawk? A+C are already Vigilant, do I really need this? It's a good card I am aware, but so is Cartographer's Hawk, and fairly few people run combat tricks that I worry about. On the one hand I love the art on Reconn, but Hawk is a rampy air plane in bird form! It even explains why it disappears, it gets picked up! The thing is, Reconn also has good Vorthos elements, very annoying!
