General Re-Tooling —June 3, 2014
Was able to get my hands on a few necessary cards, and some nice utility land. Traded Kitchen Finks for Trostani for kicks, and a couple other cards.

Thanks a bunch! Glad to have finally returned an equally awesome deckbuilding inspiration!
I'd love to see what kinds of other combos you can come up with for the deck. This Saffi list is a very challenging, skill-testing deck that doesn't have the kind of hate-mongering that comes with traditional combo decks that either don't play or the game, or overextend the boundaries of kitchen table etiquette. Plus, it's got a sturdy, value-driven infrastructure that won't leave you high and dry if your opponent can find ways to stop you.
One of the suggestions I'd have, if you plan on building the deck is to play with your end goals in mind, but not to let yourself get sucked too much into specific tutor targets. Being able to make surprising plays are what makes this deck really special. I've only had a few games with it, but being able to misdirect your opponents with your tutors and play combo pieces with recursion in hand bring a real nice dimension to this list that other "pure combo" decks don't have. Also, I haven't made anyone mad, and I haven't gotten bored- so that's a plus!
Thanks for the Melira idea. I'll think about it. I didn't have Finks in the deck originally, so it's a possibility. I am a little hesitant because I've got a lot of tutor targets though, and you can really only have so many of those. I could justify it if I cut a few things and add Woodfall Primus though. Thanks again. Lemme know if you end up building this or something like it. I'd love to compare notes.

I really love this deck, I'm sad to say the lack of one of my favorite cards Birthing Pod

I really like this deck. I've got Saffi in my Ghave deck, and I love the combos you can do with her. Decided to look if anyone has built a combo deck around her, and I am very happy I did. +1
I see a lot of cards I am running in my Ghave deck. Have you tried Nim Deathmantle in the deck at all, for extra recursion. Works wonders with Ashnod's Altar . Also have you tried Phyrexian Altar as well?

Oh Wow. Me gusta. Funny i kinda was looking around for a G/W deck that is not token or voltron. Anyway this deck seems strong and original. Playtested it a little bit with the playtester and the whole thing seems constant enough. A well deserved +1.
Have you considered Melira, Sylvok Outcast ? You have 2 persist creatures and tons of sac outlet. With Defense of the Heart you'd have no problem getting her and one of your persist creatures together. Combined with Fanatical Devotion , you can make sure your opponent won't break your combo pieces by a well played removal spell at an unfortunate moment, not to mention all the "when a creature dies" effect that this deck contains...
