I think if its cast as its adventure side and it goes into exile that's fine, you may play it that way and cast it from exile. If you cast it and send it back to the cmd zone rather than exie, that's also fine. But then tax applies to both modes of the card as well. The same is true if you cast it as a creature then if it would go back to the cmd zone tax applies to both modes.

That's how I feel it should be played.

Glad you asked wraya2 and griffstick! The Rules Committee got rulings up on the site. Just click the "Offical Website" link in the Compendiums description. Once there click the Rules tab and scroll down.

Rules Commitee states that cmd tax is applied to the card being CAST from CMD ZONE. So what griffstick says is true. Also, you have the choice on resolution of the adventure to move it to exile zone or cmd zone, since you are allowed to apply this replacement effect on the commander card.

  • So the answer is, yes, you can cast either adventure or creature from command zone. Command tax is applied as usual.
  • You may cast the creature half from exile zone if you had previously casted adventure, and allowed it to go into exile. No command tax applied if you cast from exile zone this way.
  • You may not cast creature half from exile if is was put there through other means.

GreatGoofini Thanks for the decks, and just a heads up that any brackets in deck names won't appear when listed in the compendium.

Np, makes sense since this is a PDH compendium and most of the brackets are just PDH tags haha

Oh no you can use any tags you wish in the deck titles. The issue with brackets is syntax so I have to remove them when adding the decks link. (<{||}>) can all stay.

Disregard my last list, I accidentally posted a list with the same name. I meant to post my deck but I've had to play with the name till one would pop up in the search. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/charlie-kelly-king-of-rats-2/?cb=1570510425 It won't just let me include the deck name like normal but the deck is just called Pied Piper (PDH)

I threw this together to experiment, and I think I'm pleased enough with the experiment to submit it here.

I'll be putting the deck together this winter to see how it does.
