Perhaps make a deck from the murderer's point of view? Could have Murder in there and other cards. Idk, could be fun.

I've thought about it...

Perhaps they were murdered by a rakdos cult? Most of the other cards are related to Ravinca. Perhaps they were killed in rakdos's Havoc Festival or maybe one oof their Slaughter Games? Maybe the dimir killed them to gain knowledge or to get a Coerced Confession or to Pilfered Plans of someone who was moving in on their turf? Or perhaps, since they are white spirits, the Orzhov Sin Collector collected their Debt to the Deathless? So many options here.

Two of those could maybe work. Slaughter Games if the suspect is guilty, or Coerced Confession if he's actually innocent.

Some of the upcoming card from SOI would be perfect here, with the Investigate ability

Yes, especially Thraben Inspector.

I actually took the story completely differently when i read it, i thought somebody was wrongly arrested and executed...

:(

I deliberatly avoid any mention of the convicted man's actual guilt or innocence. A future deck may bring up the issue, some day ;)

Being a person who trys to build lore friendly decks, I can only +1 this and say this is an amazing idea. If you don't mind. I'd like to try my hand at this new art of deck building!

BTW, when it is released, you defiantly need to replace Elite Inquisitor with this: Thraben Inspector

I'd love to see more story decks, either in this story series or a new story altogether.

I like the idea of a card that would be the kids before they are murdered.
