I fell in love with Blessed Spirits, or the Dead Kids as my friends and I have nicknamed them, when they came out. That card has just the right level of awkwardness to please my dark sense of humor. We enjoyed making up a bunch of stories about how they died and everything.
But when I also discovered Murder Investigation , a strange idea sprouted in my mind: to build a story-based deck around the kids' murder and the subsequent investigation. A crime deck.
A pair of innocent little children, a boy and his sister, are brutally murdered. Freed from the sorrows of the living world, they become Blessed Spirits .
The townspeople are shocked and horrified when the children's bodies are discovered, and they cry out for justice. A Thraben Inspector is put in charge of the case.
The Murder Investigation takes many days of exhaustive investigating, but in the end, they manage to identify a suspect.
Since the suspect appears particularly vicious and violent, an Azorius Arrester is dispatched to the slums where he has been hiding.
Rushing to the scene, she quickly proceeds to Arrest him.
With the memory of the grisly murders still fresh in everyone's mind, his trial begins promptly and Swift Justice
sends him to a lengthy Prison Term in a Ghostly Prison,
under the ever vigilant watch of Hixus, Prison Warden
and Gideon's Lawkeeper s.
