FNM - 3-1 result —Nov. 17, 2017
Last week we had 22 players, but this week was only 14, i believe it is because of the Iconic Masters release.
R1: 2-1 vs 4c Walkers
Interesting deck, i like this. They used Saheeli Rai's +1 and Chandras +1 to scry through the deck while destroying my dinos and dealing incremental damage on me directly, and burned me out for the win game one.
Games 2 and 3 I stuck my dinosaurs and won by beating in the face.
R2: 0-2 vs Sultai Energy
Gosh i just have the worst luck against Energy, i really need to find away to beat it. It was literally just Longtusk Cub beats, second game i got mana screwed so. Not much to say here.
R3: 2-0 vs Black Blue Treasures
They were trying to win with Mechanized Production but i kind of exiled their win con with Ixalan's Binding and that was the end of that there. Same for the second game.
R4: 2-1 vs Blue black Marrionette
I didnt realise it was a marionette deck until it was too late, and i made a misplay since i had an abrade in hand, i used it to blow up an artifact - when i realised in game 2, that the marionette had 3 toughness on the stack. I could have killed it and won game 1! Ugh. Wont do that again.
Since the deck ran no creatures i kept the pressure up and won the other two.
I really like Huatli, Warrior Poet in this deck, gives it some much needed longevity and defers aggro from myself. I like 2 in this list.
I think I am the lone wolf who DOESN'T like Rile.
I would much rather see something like Nature's Way to positively trigger Enrage.

Argy Nature's Way doesn't trigger enrage though. You deal damage to target creature you don't control. It's not like Prey Upon, for example. Ripjaw Raptor is not going to get the enrage benefit unless it's blocked in that scenario.
Nature's Way could also work well. Just pointing out why Rile would be considered.

Where are you ending up in the field?
I usually include that in my match reports as it indicates the strength of the competition eg. I'll title my match reports something like: 2nd Place at Standard Showdown 5-3-0 Undefeated

Argy Hm i'll add that into the future matches, I cant recall my placing from the previous ones at the moment. And by 'the field' you mean like if i came 2nd overall at standard fnm or if it was like 5th at a game day etc? :)

I might like Rile if/when more enrage cards are printed. Its cute but the list is too tight to run the Rile, as i would almost rather any other card over it in dire situations. Yes the enrage trigger is nice and the card draw, but until we have more enragers except for ripjaw, i dont see it being useful in this deck. matchgrizzle
