Have you seen the Mardu precon? Oh my god. Almost all of the new cards in the deck are perfect for Isshin. I didn't plan on getting that one... But now....

I haven't watched the spoiler video for it yet KBK7101, but I peeped a lot of the spoiled cards this morning. Yeah, there's a lot of really interesting stuff. I'm waiting to see how the rest of Dragonstorm shakes out, but I'm definitely considering about 5 potential swaps lol.

I'm probably going to do a brew sesh with my best friend soon and get his opinions on potential swaps. We're both really excited for this set.

Windcrag Siege?! Another Isshin effect?!

KBK7101, I'm gonna refer back to that DJ Khaled album, because Isshin is Suffering from Success this set lol. Surely, I'll find another slot change.

I didn't think that Isshin would reach "Wow, this goes in my Prosper deck" levels of card options from a single set.

There is 1 Card that comes to my mind you seem not to like, that’s The Meathook Massacre Extra damage on sacrifices, lifegain and Boardwipe hitting Indestructible Creatures too,… Will be in my 99 definitely

The Meathook Massacre is a cool card OberstHati. I hadn't picked up a copy due to how expensive it's consistently been, but that might change now that my friends and I proxy more.

My best friend runs it in a couple of his more sacrifice focused decks, so I've been on the receiving end of it enough lol. I think Meathook, while strong, shines most in those decks that have more direct control over sacrificing things. I can see the case for inclusion here though, since tokens tend to die in combat pretty easily.

I'm curious what your thoughts on Ironwill Forger are? Giving Myriad the turn it enters (assuming Isshin is up) seems like it could be good, but I'm afraid it's just a worse Mardu Siegebreaker, which also didn't make the cut.

Been lurking and enjoying the updates, and look forward to hearing the podcast!

Thank you for stopping by CommanderNeyo. I forgot to pick up an Ironwill Forger during my most recent round of pickups. I think it's a cool card, but I'm considering it a bit more for my Satya, Aetherflux Genius deck.

In regards to Mardu Siegebreaker, I was bummed it wasn't a Legendary. I brewed up a Rule Zero deck for it recently for funsies. I'm considering publishing it.

Thank you! I'm hoping we will record in the next week or two. I'm thinking my friend and will do our Tarkir review episode first. If you're interested, I can send you the link to our channel on Spotify. So far we just have an Episode 0 intro, & Episode 1 where chatted Brackets.

Thoughts on Long-Range Sensor?

I think it seems decent CommanderNeyo. I could see it as an upgrade for Isshin players who are using stuff like Idol of Oblivion or Tome of Legends. The ceiling for Long-Range Sensor definitely gets better the more you are able to go Wide and attack multiple players.

I could also see it as a kinda budget alternative to Winota, especially if players don't want to have to commit to something like Fireflux Squad or Paladin Elizabeth Taggerdy. "Discover" type effects are fun, but can be tricky to work around, esp in situations where you'd prefer straight up drawing cards.

I'll keep it on my short-list for stuff to try out eventually, but I'm feeling pretty solid with where I'm at, also not really sure what I'd swap out.

That's always the problem - there are too many good cards! Thank you for the detailed follow-up, and you're right Discover can be really hit or miss.

The only card I could possibly think of in your list would be Deadly Dispute, but even then I don't think it is really a one-for-one trade - Dispute fulfills a very different role than Sensor does, and is probably a lot better for tempo.

No prob CommanderNeyo. After the deluge of new stuff for Isshin from Dragonstorm, I pivoted to upgrades for my other decks from the other set releases since then. I think in the 3.5 years I've had this deck, Dragonstorm probably had the single most new additions for this deck; I probably swapped out close to 10 cards lol.

I could see the argument for the Deadly Dispute swap, but I do like having it as a tempo means of repurposing a token creature or responding to targeted removal on a valuable creature.
