Moved to Sideboard: Venser, Shaper Savant

Added: Living Wish

Notes: I have decided to run Living Wish in the deck. This is a meta call, and some groups won't allow me to play with a 10-card sideboard. However, in those that do, I believe it may be beneficial to have access to a slew of other cards that are useful in the deck that I don't necessarily need in the deck itself. Quick rundown through the current sideboard:

Venser: Wins me the game by bouncing everyone's permanents. Probably the least important piece of the infinite mana sink, so I can afford to move him elsewhere (since the same effect can be achieved through Cyclonic Rift).

Tajuru Preserver: Something to get whenever I'm playing against a Thrax deck or other decks that like Grave Pact and such. There are a number of decks in my meta that like those. Living Death is a very popular card too.

Consecrated Sphinx: One of those cards to get when I may simply need to turn my Living Wish into something, anything useful.

Deadeye Navigator: Redundancy. If someone exiles my Temur Sabertooth, I can go and get this guy.

Riftsweeper: Gets my important things out of exile. If I already have infinite mana and need to recycle my Living Wish, it also gets the Wish back, letting me use it multiple times.

Homeward Path: Gilded Drake and Treachery make a number of appearances, as well as Chainer and other means of stealing people's creatures. Would sometimes like my stuff back.

Vesuva: When I need that extra mana and have drawn Living Wish early, lets me copy value lands such as Nykthos or Cradle.

Walking Ballista: This one is in consideration, but it's an infinite mana outlet to win the game with on the spot. Probably used as a backup wincon in case I don't have time/access to Shaman of Forgotten Ways for any reason.

I'm currently in the processOf building my own momir deck and I'm happy to see we have a lot of cards in common. I haven't posted it yet but I will comment with the link to it when I do. This build is pretty impressive. After reading the other comments and checking out your updates I only have a couple suggestions. Maybe Pemmin's Aura to produce infinite mana only usable for creatures with Shaman of Forgotten Ways. Call of the Wild could also see some decent action in a momir deck. I also wanted to ask what your thoughts are on Yisan, the Wanderer Bard.

EDIT: I see now that you had previously removed yisan. And I overlooked that Pemmin's Aura also combos for infinite mana that can only be spent on creatures with Somberwald Sage.

Hey Magicmana,

Thanks for commenting! I'm glad to see you are also inspired to build a Momir deck =D. I'm trying to write a primer to help anyone who is interested. As for Pemmin's Aura, do keep in mind that you need to use a U to untap it. Shaman and Somberwald can't pay for Pemmin's Aura with the mana they produce, since it can only be used to cast creatures. So while the thought it nice, I'm afraid it doesn't actually produce infinite mana!

And yeah, Yisan is a great standalone card, but he is a build-around. I tried him, and he's just not useful enough in my 99. However, I would seriously reconsider running him now that I've put Training Grounds in. Kinda bummed I got rid of my foil just recently! Haha.

Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks again for stopping by!

Hey dude! So I've been toying with my own momir vig list recently, and its been a ton of fun and quite a challenge. Curious, but have you looked into Paradox Engine? Vig has gotten no attention since the printing of that card and it seems very abusable here. The obvious problem however is tutoring it =/. However, ive noticed i have the same issue with Aluren, yet its easily justified itself as here to stay

I haven't given Paradox Engine any thought. At five mana it's a very high investment, and I'm not sure it does anything good for me. The only instances I could think of where it would be useful is if I had either Earthcraft of Azami out on the field. Neither of those warrant having a Paradox Engine that sits around and does little else for me (untapping a Sol Ring here and there isn't quite good enough).

I look forward to new possible cards coming out of Amonkhet that could prove useful additions to this deck.

I see what you're saying, that makes a lot of sense your list. I guess i was just thinking of mine, its more of an elfball build. If you're curious, this is where im at so far: clicky
