Lowering the curve and adding more ramp —Nov. 2, 2021

IN: Goblin Lore, Rampant Growth, Arcane Signet, Migration Path

OUT: Surly Badgersaur, Army of the Damned, Manabond, Chromatic Lantern

Surly Badgersaur is NOT a bad card in this deck, but every time I draw it I just wish I had Bone Miser instead, so I practically never cast it. The fact that the last ability is the one that is triggering the most often since the deck is mostly sorceries and then usually does nothing feels bad.

Manabond should have come out a long time ago. It's hilarious if your hand is mostly lands, but if you have a huge hand you probably don't want to discard it to put lands into play when you can just discard the lands instead and get them back with Splendid Reclamation, and if Manabond is one of the 3-4 you're drawing off Dark Deal or Bedlam Reveler it feels horrible.

Army of the Damned doesn't really do anything. Making zombies is something Bone Miser does better and the 13 it makes just put a target on you since they enter tapped. It's completely unnecessary because it a game winning sorcery that doesn't actually win you the game and Insurrection and Rise of the Dark Realms do it so much better.

Chromatic Lantern is basically a hold out from when the deck used to run three pestilence-style effects and it was utterly necessary to have it in play to go off. Now it's just subpar ramp. Migration Path is also subpar ramp, but it's better because it has cycling!
