Top 4 Tuesday Night Standard 12-2-14 —Dec. 4, 2014
4 round tuesday night magic tourney at my LGS
1st round 2-1 against Green Hornets
2nd round Bye
3rd round 2-0 Jeskai control Stormbreath and Sarkhan almost made this a midrange deck.
4th round 1-0 (to time) Ascendancy combo
the only big problem i found running my updated grixis version is the lack of the 4 Radiant Fountain and the 4 Swiftwater Cliffs. the life loss wasnt too terrible but i definitely started sweating a couple times. Mindswipe still was an all star as a finisher and a mid game threat. im somewhat torn currently on the inclusion of both Despise and Thoughtseize in the mainboard. Any new suggestions still welcome and please feel free to try this list out!

Mindswipe has actually been one of my best finishers, there are definitely times where you have the opportunity to just fireball someones face with it. and in regards to tapping out it all comes down to knowing when and when not to.
Sarkhan comes in as a great multi tool and since grixis control has access to burn and Stormbreath Dragon his four damage is great

It looks good. I haven't experimented with mindswipe too much. But running control I hate tapping out unless I absolutely have to. And with that counter spell I would be too tempted to to do extra damage. I like despise but I can't find room for it. I would drop it and magma jet for extra scry or lightning strike for extra removal. The deck looks good. Haven't had a chance to use sarkhan. Let me know how it does. +1
