Lord Swap —Sept. 4, 2018
Acquired a play set of the Death Baron zombie lord. Amazing card by he looks of it, looking forward to using this creature. Took out the Cemetery Reaper and 3 Lord of the Accursed. I feel Accursed is a good lord for what it is, however I rather have the Barons giving the Deathtouch static ability to my zombie horde. Reaper is turned out to be just garbage.

Thank you for the suggestion Apple. Glaring Spotlight on paper looks good, and it's cmc is only 1 making it look appealing. The 3 mana cost to activate the ability however seems a little costly, and after paying the 1 cmc would make it 4 mana costing in total. Not to mention, there is a ton of artifact hate in Modern I think that would get rid of Glaring Spotlight before I could pop it.

You're probably right I was just thinking spotlight had more situational uses then Heroic Intervention which basically only offers protection from wraths and cheap removal. Spotlight offers protection from cheap removal, Bogles hate, and allows your zombies to Alpha Strike in the late game when 2/2s can't get past much.
Anyway how has this deck been performing?

Yes, I definitely see where youre coming from. Another difference that I did not take into consideration is that the Heroic Intervention does protect against board wipes where as Spotlight does not, at the cost of 1 less mana. Dealing with a deck like Bogles is where the sideboard would come into play. More than enough cheap enchantment destruction and hand disruption.
I ran a similar deck that was a little slower using a playset of Cryptbreakers and a playset of Geralf's Messengers, and it ran adequately. I even beat Jund midrange in the final round of the modern tournament, so to me that says something about the potential of this deck.

How about Glaring Spotlight instead of Heroic Intervention?
