Blackgate on Tomb of Annihilation (Venture into the Dungeon)

I agree the deck could use more 1 and 2 drops (currently there 4x Dungeon Crawler, 4x Intrepid Outlander, 2x You Find a Cursed Idol and 2x Fates' Reversal).

Mosswood Dreadknight is a good recommendation. How do you recommend squeezing this in?

I considered using Assassin's Trophy for removal but Murderous Rider as a creature with lifelink (and Zombie synergy) helps off set the loss of life when traversing through Tomb of Annihilation. I found this additional life gain to be quite handy as the deck can complete Tomb of Annihilation quite fast and is pretty consistent.

Castle Locthwain is a great idea and I’ll add it to the deck- thanks!

Hi droslag thanks for reposting your comment! Not sure what happened there.

I’ll give Brutal Cathar  ^Flip a shot to see how it works with the curve - I had reservations with this creature due to it’s low power and it being susceptible to Play with Fire.

I suppose Soul Shatter works if you’re dealing with creatures you can’t target? As opposed to Infernal Grasp and Fateful Absence? Sideboard could be an option for this card. Lots of great suggestions thank you!

Dungeon Crawler works surprisingly well as it’s easy to complete a dungeon with this deck so getting them back into your hand isn’t uncommon!

Weird. I'll re-comment.

I was wondering why not Brutal Cathar  ^Flip over Gelatinous Cube? Also I'd recomment Agadeem's Awakening  ^Flip could swap a swamp out for 2 or something. I find Vanishing Verse really useful main or side boarded, aswell as Divine Smite sideboard for facing black decks. Before Liesa, Forgotten Archangel I used Kaya the Inexorable and I still think shes good. Im running 2 liesa, 1 kaya. I also like to use a Lolth, Spider Queen or two just because she's good. How well does Dungeon Crawler fare? I remember cutting mine for the Yuan-Ti Malison. I'd also recommend maining or siding a couple Soul Shatter.

instead of Gelatinous Cube why not Brutal Cathar  ^Flip ? Also i think Vanishing Verse is really good, atleast a sideboard. I run a similar deck, but include Yuan-Ti Malison mainboard and use Lolth, Spider Queen as well as Kaya the Inexorable who has helps creatures come back like Liesa, Forgotten Archangel. How well does Dungeon Crawler fare? I remember cutting it

As an extra note, LVD actually just put out a video on this deck! Fly seems to be instrumentally useful, so replacing Dungeon Crawler with Elite Spellbinder and Paladin Class with Fly could be great! Also, Precipitous Drop isn't terrible, but it does feel a little lackluster as a -2/-2 and a venture card. I don't really have a suggestion for a replacement for Drop, but otherwise, the rest of the feedback is great, and it seems like the deck has some awesome potential!

At first I thought this deck's color pie was all over the place, but I gave it a test run for funsies at it was really fun! If there's any card that hasn't really pulled its weight, Dungeon Crawler and Eccentric Apprentice are somewhat dead cards, as Eccentric Apprentice can only sometimes be useful, and Dungeon Crawler is really slow for the aggro side of this deck. I don't really know any great suggestions of the top of my head, maybe maindeck Elite Spellbinder ? I'm not sure, but I'm loving what you got!
