Diminish Discussion

what about Diminish , sure, it doesn't get rid of the abilities, but, it is a second Turn to Frog that can be used to steal/kill an opponents fatty.

Maybe I'm missing something, but some of the cards here don't seem to have much synergy with the mill plan. Glamerdye doesn't appear to do anything except provide fuel for Consuming Aberration. If that's what it's for, Raven's Crime or Oona's Grace would probably be much better. Advice from the Fae also looks needlessly overcosted since I imagine it will whiff often. That said, it and Nightveil Specter make me think devotion/chroma. Cutting the mediocre Nightveil Sprite, Dusk Legion Dreadnought, and Diminish, you could add Sanity Grinding, Mission Briefing, Hedron Crab, and similar cards with many blue mana symbols. Even Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx has a lot of potential since it's a great way to make Torment of Hailfire lethal. If you're dead set on the Abberation plan, I would recommend some way to give it unblockable (Distortion Strike, Aqueous Form, Rogue's Passage, etc.) to help you get in.

I think the deck tries to do too many things: big creatures, milling, and control. If you prefer to focus more on control and milling, I'd remove either Graypelt Hunter or Oran-Rief Survivalist since they do the same. I'd also remove Diminish since you have fogs and many boomerang efects.

However I think milling only with the excavator (+ copies) and a few spells is not very reliable, so another option is just removing milling from the equation. Halimar Excavator + Traumatize + Jace's Erasure is already 8 cards, so just one more and you'll have 60.

Of course, last option I see is removing all the blue control, and focus on having a more aggressive build with lots of allies, along with some blue milling spells: winning via creature damage would be the main goal, and milling an alternative in case the game stalls. Adding white as a third color would help a lot here, since it gives you access to some good aggresive allies like Talus Paladin, Hada Freeblade, Kazandu Blademaster, Lantern Scout and Veteran Warleader, and also to some very good removal.

In any case, if you want to keep the deck as similar as possible to what you have now, first things I would get rid of are 2x Diminish, 2x Unsummon since they are a bit weak. And if you find some more dual lands, I think you can stick to 20 since your curve is not high.

Diminish is the reason this deck works.

Retooled a few cards in the sideboard that I've been meaning to update. I decided to take it less seriously and remove Stony Silence and replace them with Curse of the Swine. I also made room for Martial Coup as a board wipe and upgraded Diminish to Snakeform since it draws you a card and removes abilities. Still an amazingly fun deck to play in modern. I love every part of this deck.

Maybe too much creatures, get solid game enders like Sphinx of the Final Word and play it as your only creature.

All the enchantments are just bad. Diminish and Whisk Away out.

There are ton of options to add:

Condescend Good counterspell

Think Twice Card advantage

Engulf the Shore Goodboard wipe for Mono Blue

Disallow Solid counterspell

Jace, Architect of Thought Overall very good walker

Psychic Barrier Straightly better Essence Scatter

There are so much more that i'm not going to list everything but there are maybe the best budget options.

And to make deck more consistent don't play so much 1 and 2 ofs, just play 4 of all good cards

Since you are running some blue why not test out some Pongify or Diminish in the side to deal with some harder to remove threats? Your elves should be bigger and a Turn to Frog makes most creatures worthless. I only think they would be sideboard cards but they could swing the game in your favor.
