Buster Sword

Equipped Creature gets +3/+2.
Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, draw a card, then you may cast a spell from your hand with mana value less than or equal to that damage without paying its mana cost.
Equip (: Attach this to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This enters unattached and stays on the battlefield if the creature this card is attached to leaves the battlefield.)

Not bad! Considering your commander and the fact that you already have Cloud in here, the deck is basically begging for a Buster Sword at this point. Bit expensive of course, but it would really fit. Also, Excalibur, Sword of Eden would be highly recommended, as the other historics in your deck greatly reduce its casting cost and it's spectacularly powerful. Caduceus, Staff of Hermes would work great as well, as you need all the lifelink you can get to counter damage from attacks done by opponents that go wide on you (not to mention the overpowered indestructibility and power/toughness boost it grants when you're near (or over) your starting life total).

Love your commitment to Cloud, though I am curious as to why his Buster Sword is not in here. Is this because you're still looking for one or because it's too expensive?

Yes, the Buster Sword is definitely on my list of pick-ups from the FF set. I didn't think of Forge and Frontier, I will have to add that. Thank you!

I see the vision, and I’m terrified. Awesome concept for a deck! If you haven’t already I’d check out some of the Equipment in the new Final Fantasy set. Buster Sword specially would be a devastating addition.

My thoughts would be Enlightened Tutor & Steelshaper's Gift to go get relevant equip like Hammer of Nazahn or card advantage. Sword of Forge and Frontier is another idea to chew through the library
