Backstory: My playgroup, consisting of 5 other guys and I challenge ourselves by making $20 decks and putting them against each other in little home tournaments. As you may imagine, most people, my playgroup included, like to play aggressive decks that either cheat out powerful creatures or chip away with 1,2,3,4-drop creatures. These decks are fairly fast (turn 4-6 win if left unchecked), and come packed with efficient removal. Whenever I see what awesomeness they’ve created, I’m reminded how a crafty player can stretch $20 to the max! However, one weakness of all of their decks is that they rarely play enchantment removal. So today I have built a deck that not only punishes the micro-meta with an enchantment-heavy deck, but also chips away at decks that need to tap out to play a threat each turn.

This pile of total jank chips away at opponents’ health with tapout hate like Contaminated Ground, Lithoform Blight, Psychic Venom, and others. The deck protects the user from early damage with Energy Field, which can be tutored using Dimir Infiltrator. If the opponent decides to stop tapping lands, this deck delivers a finishing blow with Ancestral Mask equip to the users’ choice of one of three evasive creatures: Mire Boa, Dimir Infiltrator, or Riptide Chimera. To add a bit of flavor, I find that one copy of Gulf Squid can also tap all opponent’s lands for a funny finisher.

On another note, Riptide Chimera also combos well with Lithoform Blight, allowing the user to draw cards in a pinch, and Trial of Ambition to faithfully destroy one extra pesky creature each turn. Likewise, Mire Boa combos well with Contaminated Ground(for the swamp walk) as well as Energy Field, because it can regenerate without hitting the graveyard should an opponent try to remove it.

I am constantly tweaking my decks, so I would love suggestions, especially for enchantment protection, provided they keep the deck under $20. All in all, my goal was to build a deck that is amusing to play against; one that makes my aggro opponent both frustrated and impressed.
