would hallowed moonlight affect flip walkers?

Asked by veritas723 8 years ago

Hello, fairly sure i know the answer to this, but guess the question is, does a flip walker return to the battlefield trigger ETB as a creature or planeswalker?

cards read: return him/her to the battlefield transformed

would Hallowed Moonlight apply?

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip for an example of a double-faced walker.

When one of the Origins planeswalkers enters the battlefield, it's a planeswalker. The card enters the battlefield transformed, which means it has only the properties of the back face. Therefore, Hallowed Moonlight will not affect it.

as a quick follow up. it would catch things "put" into play. like from Collected Company See the Unwritten or Necromantic Summons or nab any of the tokens other cards plop out

I'm not sure whether you're asking that as a question or stating it as a fact.

If a creature would enter the battlefield and that creature wasn't cast as a spell, then it's exiled instead. This means all tokens will be exiled and it also means anything that would be returned to the battlefield or be put there from a zone other than the stack will be exiled.
