Question about Phantasmal Bear's interactions with Strionic Resonator!
Asked by Smellygoat11 6 years ago
Quick noob question:
If someone targets my Phantasmal Bear with a spell or ability, can I copy the bear's triggered sacrifice ability (with Strionic Resonator) to target an opponent's creature?
I guess it's more a question on the nature of the sacrifice mechanic and whether or not it's legal to target opponent's creatures with it, despite the wording on Strionic Resonator.
I'm going to say 'no', since Phantasmal Bear's ability doesn't target anything.

Thanks guys. I want to make a tribal illusion EDH deck, and I wanted to find a way to subvert that common drawback. The deck's fine enough in casual play without it though, thanks again :)

Already have him in there :) It's probably best this EDH is going to be more casual since the only other 2 generals I run are Szadek, Lord of Secrets and Zur the Enchanter lol.

Unfortunately not, Bears ability specifically says to sacrifice it so if you copy it the copy will still only affect (or is it effect?) it.
