Does swtiching Fluxcharger's P/T in response to Rending Volley save it?

Asked by miracleHat 8 years ago

I attack with Fluxcharger and he is not blocked.
Before combat damage, I cast Electrolyze, switching Fluxcharger's p/t from a 1/5 to a 5/1.
In response, the opponent casts Rending Volley (looks at Spell Pierce & Mana Leak, crying).
In response to the Rending Volley, would casting Lightning Bolt switching Fluxcharger back to a 1/5 save it?

I am assuming that "[gatherer]Switching a creatures power and toughness twice (or any even number of times) effectively returns the creature to the power and toughness it had before any switches." applies here...?

Yes, because Fluxcharger has a may in its ability, so you simply choose not to change it a second time after it becomes a 1/5 with 4 damage marked on it.
