Can a tapped creature fight a tapped creature through Pit Fight?

Asked by nickiru 9 years ago

If I Pit Fight a tapped Phyrexian Obliterator to attack a tapped (or untapped) creature. Is being tapped considered illegal making the card cancel? or will no damage be done, or will phyrexian do none and the other will if it is untapped? what would happen.

Also, second question:

If 2 creatures are attacking me, and I have Phyrexian Obliterator block 1. is damage dealt in a way where phyrex is hurt first, the enemy sacrifices permanents, and then the other creature I didn't block hits me? in that order?

Thanks

Pit Fight does not impose restrictions on which creatures can fight each other, other than that the first must be one you control and the second must be a different creature. Therefore, you can use the card to fight your Phyrexian Obliterator with another creature. Nice combo.

Damage is dealt simultaneously (outside of the distinction between first strike and normal combat damage), and then abilities that trigger from damage are put on the stack. Damage will be dealt to your Obliterator and to you, and then the Obliterators ability will go on the stack.

Also, try not to post multiple questions in the same thread.

Oh, ok, I'll make seperate posts for Q's then. I was in a hurry, I was in a battle.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks.

HAaahah, yes it is an interesting combo. I also pair it up with Domri Rade , Pit Fight , Boros Reckoner , Spitemare , and Phyrexian Obliterator .

Thanks for the answer.

Note that "attack" has a very specific meaning in Magic, and it is not relevant to fight. Attacking is relevant during combat. Fighting is not combat.
