They are pretty similar, they let me grab a land and are a chump blocker to get me through early game.
But which one do you think is better in this deck AND WHY?!?!

Try Sakura Tribe Elder if you can. He actually accelerates your mana while chump blocking.

Only downside is you always sacrifice Sakura on your opponents very next turn so you 'can't' save him for a bigger or more important attacker later on.

Primal Druid is also a nice option, in that he can actually present a decent blocker. The downside is that he gives you little to no value against non-creature based strategies.
If you're going that route though, Sylvan Caryatid is where it's at.

Say I was to put in 4x Sakura-Tribe Elders and then 2x of either Gatecreeper Vine or Sylvan Ranger.
If that was the case, which would you suggest and why?

Dont play mana creatures that put land into your hand. They dont do enough. Always look for those that put the land onto the battlefield.

Turn 1 Arbor Elf
Turn 2 Utopia Sprawl on untapped land. Tap that land for 2. Untap it with elf. Tap for another 2. Play Freed from the Real. Float 1 mana. Use mana to untap elf. Generate infinite mana. Win.

The answer is neither. Sakrifice elder!
