What do you guys think will happen to Nissa, Worldwaker value now that Khans have been spoiled. I keep waiting to see her come down, but she hasn't moved. It's really annoying since I'll be playing something with green in it after the rotation and she's at $40. Ugh. Do I bite the bullet or just do without?
I think the big difference between Elspeth and Nissa is that Nissa is seeing a lot of play in EDH, and casual players also love her. I'm not sure how much those factor in to the price, but it is something to consider. I have a really hard time believing she's "truly" worth $40, but the hype doesn't seem to be dying down, so who knows?

Well, I also want to grab one for EDH...so I'm hoping she goes down eventually...I mean...cmon, eventually right? Please MTG...

Nissa isn't really going to be rendered obsolete by the new meta. Yes, if wedge-colored decks play her, her second +1 isn't going to be used as often (if at all), and there will be a lot less basics for her to fetch with her ultimate, but the ability to make 4/4s out of excess lands is still amazing in almost any deck. I'm guessing she'll drop down to $25-30.

While the card is certainly seeing play, which ultimately drives the demand. Nissa, Worldwaker , and to the smaller extent cards like Goblin Rabblemaster , are the market trying to equalize out the sets value to the pack value. If there's literal no value in a pack of M15 then less packs get opened, when less packs get opened cards that would normally be worth a smaller amount get inflated. I would expect Nissa, Worldwaker to see a a very similar pricing curve as something like Voice of Resurgence .

Now I do not feel so bad for opening a playset during release weekend.
Shit, now I should actually use them.

Frankly I'm still really surprised at her price as well. Even $20 cards have to be highly relevant for me to be picking up one, let alone a play set. Personally, I would just go without while she's sitting above $30 and trade for what you can in the meantime.

I will let you know if I want to get rid of them. I play more modern and legacy than anything. So I might ditch standard before christmas. It happened last year too.

FYI she's now at $45 at Star City Games, so she's actually gone up!

I'm also surprised she is as expensive as she is still. I will compare to Elspeth, Sun's Champion who is also absolutely amazing in standard and was hyped to a way high price. She eventually came back down though.
Is Nissa so much more and not falling simply because this is core set vs. set 1 from a largely opened block? She isn't played more than Elspeth ever was, I don't think.
