Janky B/G lock

It's mean, but it needs help to function.

Spellweaver Helix hooked up with Dimir Machinations and Raven's Crime to lock down the opponents hand and draw via Life from the Loam. Empty their hand, make sure they don't draw into any answers, sit back and do this three times on your every turn. They're probably just going to walk away. Do I flesh this out with more control to wait and eventually get the whole thing online, or go for speed?

Have you seen 8 rack decks? That would be where I would start.

Budg8Rack is mine

Shooting to be a little meaner than running an 8rack. I want them to realize they have no hope of obtaining an answer and just walk away, but thanks for the quick suggestion.

ahhhfish you had me at "janky lock". My favorite words. Anyway it looks like what you're making is similar to lantern control. If you haven't seen a list yet, it uses Lantern of Insight to make the top card of every library visible, and then uses Codex Shredder and Ghoulcaller's Bell to prevent your opponent from drawing whatever solution they need. You usually mill them to death in the slowest, most excruciating way possible. It's beautiful.

If you are committed to using the combo you have, maybe you could incorporate lantern control into it. If you aren't set on using Spellweaver Helix, I HIGHLY recommend looking at lantern control. MTGSalvation has an excellent primer on the subject with a variety of competitive lists and a budget list.

a card draw card would be better along with Dakmor Salvage in hand to ditch to retrace, dredge the land back and keeping it rolling

Thanks Serendipitous_Hummingbird That is precisely the idea I am going for, the long, drawn out, incredibly punch in the face worthy, lock. While I see that Lantern control is infinitely faster, what with it's engines being 1 CMC and having two options for mill, I am committed to trying to get this specific combo to work...because I already have the cards. Definitely will use the primer for ideas to try and flesh this bad daddy out though.
