Legendary Creature- Demon

3/3

At the end of each turn if an opponent lost life you get a ticket counter. At the beginning of your first combat phase you may remove any number of ticket counters from yourself, if you do you may put a creature card with a cmc of x from your hand onto to the battlefield and lose x life where x is the number of ticket counters removed this turn.

When Varmil, Carnival Orchestrator leaves the battlefield each opponent sacrifices a creature, you may then remove any number of ticket counters from yourself and put a creature card other than Varmil, Carmival Orchestrator with a cmc of x from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control where x is the number of ticket counters removed this turn.

Rakdos flavor for days.

Wording.... (redone below)

At the beginning of each opponents upkeep, you get a ticket counter. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may remove X ticket counters from yourself. If you do, you may put a creature with X converted mana cost from your hand onto the battlefield under your control.

When Varmil, Carnival Orchestrator leaves the battlefield, each opponent sacrifices a creature. Then, you may remove X ticket counters from yourself and put a creature card with X converted mana cost, other than Varmil, Carmival Orchestrator, onto the battlefield under your control.

I like the concept behind the card, and the fact that you get a ticket counter. However, the card seems a little... Strange?

The first ability is usually green. Getting to put a card into play is not a black or red thing.

The second ability is also kinda weird. It's mostly the sacrifice effect, that doesn't fit in with the creatures other abilities.

Also, no P/T? And rarity?

I came up with the card after looking at Rakdos, Lord of Riots and Kaalia of the Vast both of which could essentially get creatures out for free. The sacrifice thing is something that black tends to do, same with the reanimation effect.

It would be mythic of course.

This card is going for flavor.

The demon guy is handing out tickets and letting monsters of all shapes and sizes into the Rakdos Carnarium.

It's an interesting concept, however a little broken. So I'm guessing this is for commander and basically what your saying is come turn 4, I can effectively Aluren a creature every round? And then I get other abilities, one of which is creature hate?

Also, how big are you expecting this card to be? Because that much text will not fit on a regular magic card.

Honestly, I would just cut it down to the first ability and tweak it a little and you're good.

However, the first ability just doesn't feel Rakdos. It is green. The two cards you mention have a certain condition, before you put a creature into play. One is based off of damage, and the other are Mardu creatures (angels, demons and dragons). If the ticket counter was based off of damage of some sort, it would be more flavourful.

The_Raven: someting like, "at the end of each opponent's turn, if that player lost life this turn you get a ticket counter"?

perhaps something like this would be sufficiently flavorful:

Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under an opponents control you get a ticket counter. At the beginning of your turn, sacrifice a creature and deal damage damage equal to the sacrificed creature's power to each player.
At the beginning of your end step, remove all ticket counters from yourself. Then deal damage X damage divided as you choose among any number of target creatures or players.

This doesn't put creatures onto the field from the hand because thats not a black thing and its only barely a red thing (Through the Breach). Now the orchestrator is collecting tickets from everyone who is coming to the show. but whats a show without a little bit of blood and gore? so make a mess with your own performers. afterwards use your ticket money to throw a rousing party/mob. then start again next turn.

theres also the option to add something like: creatures cost 1 less to cast. which means more people could be invited to the show, but i didnt want to overload the card.

Keep the Ideas coming, at the end of the week I will take the ideas that work and compile them to create a final draft.
