Your list is great too! But more on the competitive side...

I would recommend Words of Waste to lock opponents out of the game by forcing discard at instant speed. But, since I don't play cEDH, I don't if it's too slow.

Your list looks pretty comprehensive. The only thing I would consider, since your running living death already, would be fitting Gary into the deck. He flips as a win con with Living death, and he can stabilize life if necessary without it, since there's a potential to lose a lot with Yawgmoth. Competetive EDH isn't my exact expertise, so i'm not sure what turn you're looking to finish your combo on, Gary may be too slow - but he could slot in over the Merciless Executioner, as the Plaguecrafter is a better version of it, and you already have him in the deck.

m_tironi hey that's a great recommendation actually.. I am going to add it to the maybeboard for now and test it out to see how it works, thanks!

Super small optimization, but Fleshbag Marauder over Merciless Executioner plays better with Cavern of Souls for you. The real reason you want it is cus Fleshbag is the OG version.

jhicks7 I had grey merchant in previously but I think that the combo with blood artist, zulaport or deathgreeter is already doing the same thing keeping you alive. I like gray merchant for sure its a super strong card I just couldnt see a way to fit him in now. I think having both the plague guy and executioner are vital at the moment as they allow you to asymmetrically keep the board clear

rotkiv4219 good point about the cavern! I just like the executioners art better haha :-)

Love it! I never even considered the Geralf's Messenger combo.

Thanks for your comment on my deck, yours look great too! "Little" more competitive than mine but my intention was to make it more casual. -1/-1 strategy is nice and flavorful as spreading sickness across the board and Midnight Banshee sure works wonderfully :)

Hello their, just something i thought about with the undying shenanigans. I believe (this might be wrong), but you kill the creature with undying, but since that is part of the cost of using the effect (before the semicolon) you get the undying trigger to happen before the -1/-1 counter is placed. Then the effect will resolve and you place the -1/-1 creature on the undying creature, then the cancel out so you can do it all again. I might be wrong be i believe that this work. If the "sacrifice a creature" part of the cost was in the text, it wouldn't as you can't do anything while something is resolving, not even triggered death abilities but since it is part of the cost... Anyway i am building him, he looks like so much fun!

DINOSAURS65556 Yes it is part of the cost to sac the undying creature, but you need to pick a target for the ability even before the cost is payed. That is why you need two Undying creature.

A buddy of mine has this idea that once you've got your deck in your hand after bargaining, to cast dark ritual, discard a titan, then re drawing the cards to infinitely proliferate and storm, think there could be an application there?

shadowmage says... #12

KailDaemon it’s definitely an interesting idea, however I’ve found generally your deck is always going to be greater than your life total. Because of this if you are trying to draw your library you will always need to play one of either deathgreeter, blood artist, or zulaport cutthroat in order to not die to yawgmoths ability. Once you have those cards in play you are already in the position to win by recycling a titan when your deck runs out of cards. You have the whole library so you can just play any discard outlet or just use Yawgmoth.

I just really don’t see the efficiency gained unless this combo route was actually lowering the amount of cards needed to win or it’s patently better than either blood artist or zulaport cutthroat

Magistrate's Scepter for infinite turns.

Liliana, Dreadhorde General + 3x proliferate (12 mana total, discard 3) = win

I'm new to cEDH o I don't know if this suggestion is good, but what do you think of Soldevi Adnate for the deck?

May 30, 2019 2:52 a.m.

shadowmage says... #15

m_tironi

I like the idea of the scepter however it seems like a completely dead card outside of the combo

Liliana dreadhorde seems like a more viable option, we can grind out advantage. I don’t really see using the ultimate here as “winning”, it doesn’t wipe every permanent out unfortunately. I think the static “draw a card” effect is better than the ult however I don’t really see that as being necessary here as Yawgmoth already does the same thing with his ability.

Soldevi Adnate is a pretty good card in certain decks however I’m not sure this is the one. I don’t really see adding a couple mana on a future turn as being useful and we already have a sac outlet in Yawgmoth. It could be decent if dropped turn 1 or two but I think just a regular mana rock is better in this deck

shadowmage Still the card did not leave and you are already doing such evilness!!! Very good idea! And I love Mono Black ... Few suggestions can take place on a 100% deck ... I'm just afraid of the number of lands (29), are few for deck commander but I can suggest Extraplanar Lens (more than 17 is great) to double the swamps that can be exchanged for snow covered ...

Keep up the great work!

By "competitive" you mean multiplayer, or 1v1? If 1v1, which banlist you'r using?

I really enjoyed your list, and was thinking something like that, but since i play in French Banlist, can't use several mana rocks that you'r using.

I'm thinking about making it a little "grindier" like a mid-range/ combo

shadowmage says... #19

primooit this list is for multiplayer and uses the standard ban list. If you’re playing French 1v1 you will definitely have to alter the deck quite a bit. You may want to go the staxier route and use things like contamination , more hand destruction etc

I've personally witnessed this deck come back and win out of no where. Player was at 1 life after being abused + self inflicted damage to come back and win out of no where. Deck is SUPER resilient and pops off at any moment.

Necroskitter seems like good value. You can steal dorks etc.

Hissp yea that seems strong here I’ve been thinking about adding it in

shadowmage How has the testing been with Necroskitter? Seems like it could be a nice utility card in the deck.

June 14, 2019 11:32 p.m.

shadowmage says... #25

Larry_J it's definitely a powerful effect however its not really advancing our gameplan at all. Im leaving it in the maybe board for now but I doubt it will make it to the main deck. If it worked on opponents generals I would say it would be an auto include however they can just send the general to the command zone so we cant steal it with necroskitter
