OGW Changes as promised! —Jan. 27, 2016

Hey all! I know I promised i'd update for BFZ but I didn't see anything that BFZ brought to the board so I decided to wait till Oath. and now development has started! I will probably go abzan now! Because CoCo is too good!

this deck is way to inconsitent for me

crimsonhororr If you could explain how this deck is inconsistent that would be very nice. As this deck has a win/loss record of approximately 73 wins/9 losses. And the 3 of the losses were against modern decks.

hardly any play sets of what i would have play sets of, i had no offence to the deck or its creature but i like playing really consistent decks instead of top decking. i think that running that many double white and double black cards is a little sketchy without running mana confluence , also you need to be running 4 bloodsoaked champions its the second best 1 drop in standard after swiftspear with a tribal efect , instead of Great Teacher's Decree i would use Rush of Battle its much better with the tribal efect.

Well I have play tested this deck for months, Blood soaked has gotten me killed before, also this deck is budget, confluence is expensive, and also I have enough life link from seeker and sorin, no need for rush of battle. Also please do tell what cards need to be play sets, but keep in mind that this is budget.

Bloodsoaked actually does have inconsistent performance in this list, I know because I ran a very similar one based on it. Sometimes it's amazing. Sometimes it's absolutely worthless. I had to change the deck a fair amount before it performed well.

I know that Bloodsoaked Champion can't block, but without playing him, all your one drops are white. I often keep a 1 or 2 land hand with my my Orzhov warrior deck and the options of having a few one drop black cards helps my odds of having a turn 1 threat on the board.

I just noticed Murderous Cut mainboard. Does that have enough delve fuel here?

ComradeJim270 Well with my play testing I find that it does! I am always casting lots of spells, It is very easy to fuel, and with athreos, if they pay the life to keep the creature from coming back, then I have even more cards to delve with! Also who doesn't love an effectively 1 mana kill spell?

That's pretty cool, I may have to test that out.

The lack of Bloodsoaked Champion is disturbing... 2 bucks a piece it not breaking a bank compared to other competitive standard decks.

ActionHeroDwag, Bloodsoaked Champion has been suggested before, in fact it was in my original build, but I took it out due to it not being able to block, I have lost many games because of the bloodsoaked champion, also the fact he can return is only meh, Im spending a lot of mana on other spells, so really he could he be summoned back late game, but then he is very useless, the arguement that he is a 1 mana 2/1 is also negated due to their being other 2/1 for 1 warriors I could add in but don't. Again, this is has been said many times. I have myself 1 playset of them but I don't use them, cost is not a concern, in my main deck (this is the base for it, take a look in description for main).

you may want to use valorous stance as a replacement for the protection cards that'll rotate out and swift reckoning to replace ultimate price. Ultimate price doesn't hit eldrazi or walkers which will be played a lot in rotation

I run Raiders' Spoils in my Orzhov Warriors and thoroughly enjoy the extra pain it tacks on. IMO it's worth a look.

Mornelith, thing about spoils is, is that it is cmc 4 and we have much more powerful 4 drops, as well as I do not what I would take out for this, sure the draw is awesome, but this is basically a chief of the edge and Thopter Spy Networks last ability but for warriors, and the reason why network is so good is that it does that AND produces thopters. It also was in the original build and taken out due to better cards being added in

September 15, 2015 2:33 p.m.

I found the same case @synonymous_. I liked Raiders' Spoils but it just became clunky in that 4 slot. plus with Athreos, God of Passage making great recursion, draw machine became less of a necessity because my main answers stuck around. I have 1 in the side board for longer games against control decks, but agree that in the Aggro world, this card is too slow for what we need in b/W Warriors

I have a deck list of this deck except without theros, and with bfz, but it isn't completely refined, I will be posting it up soon!
